Have you flossed today?
Sounds like something your dentist would say but I’m talking about your Chakras!
Each one of our chakras, energy centers, represent a part of our spiritual, emotional, mental and physical well being and if you don’t clean them you could start experiencing dis-ease in that area of your life.
Our energy centers can get dirty, become closed or even too open and that’s why today I am sharing my own technique I use to clean and balance my chakras.
But first, here is an excerpt from my book, Your Freaking Amazing Gifts on what each chakra represents.
Root chakra. The root chakra is located at the base of the spine and is the color red. This chakras function is on survival, feeling secure and safe, grounding, stability, courage, etc.
Having an under-active root chakra causes fear or worry about money, stability, feeling lack, etc. Having an over active root chakra would cause obsession over money and material items.
Sacral chakra. The sacral chakra is located in the center of the abdomen below the belly button and is the color orange. The function of the sacral chakra is personal desires, primal feelings, sexuality, enthusiasm, and creativity.
Having an under-active sacral chakra causes worry and stress about the physical body (weight, health, appearance) and an overactive sacral chakra causes an obsession with the body, cravings, and addictions
Solar plexus chakra. The solar plexus chakra is located above the belly button and below the chest and is the color yellow. The function of this chakra is personal power, social identity, influence, self-control, energy, peace radiance, joy, vitality and inner strength.
Having an under-active solar plexus chakra causes fear of losing control and fear of being controlled. An overactive solar plexus chakra causes obsession of being in control and gaining power over others.
Heart chakra. The heart chakra is located at the center of the chest. This chakra is the color green but pink is also associated with this chakra. The function of this chakra is love, relationships, passion, joy, and feeling connected.
An underactive heart chakra causes fear of rejection, hate, jealousy, isolation, and disbelief in unconditional love. A balanced heart chakra allows you to feel deep love for others, connected to others, open to love and accepting others, joy, and peace.
Throat chakra. The throat chakra is located in the throat and is the color blue. The function of the throat chakra is communication, expression, inspiration, wisdom, confidence, and self-expression through music, art, writing, etc.
If the throat chakra is under-active, one would have a fear of expressing themselves. If it is overactive, one would be obsessive in communicating, talking to hear themselves.
Third eye chakra. The third eye chakra probably gets the most attention when working with intuition, because the primary function of this chakra is intuition, psychic abilities, visualization, dreams, memory, and comprehension. This chakra is located in the middle of the forehead and is the color purple/indigo.
If this chakra is out of balance, it may cause joint problems, dehydration, fertility issues, and isolation and guilt. When this chakra is in balance, it can cause fertility, joy, creativity, adaptability, and going with the flow of life.
Crown chakra. The crown chakra is located at the top of the head and is the color violet. The function of this chakra is claircognizance, unity with the divine, wisdom and purpose, universal consciousness, and enlightenment.
Chakra Cleaning: To clean your chakras, I recommend breathing in the corresponding chakra color and imagining the color swirling in a clockwise motion at its destination, i.e. red for your root chakra, etc. Once you have done this for all seven main chakras, then you imagine flossing them. You imagine the brightest white light as a piece of floss and pull it through each chakra. You may notice specs or chunks fly off and send them to the white light.
